Chakka Kuru Manga Curry / Jackfruit Seed Mango Curry




























Jackfruit seeds – 1 cup (Remove the skin & sliced into pieces)
Raw mango – 1 small (Peeled and cut into pieces)
Grated coconut – ½ cup
Garlic pods – 2
Shallot – 1
Green chilli – 2
Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
Chilli powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Salt – to taste
For seasoning
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Dry red chilli – 2
Shallots – 2
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Coconut oil – 1 tbsp

1. Cook jackfruit seeds in a pressure cooker by adding enough water, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt. Then smashed with a spoon.
2. Add mango into the cooked jackfruit seeds with little water. Cover and cook when mango pieces become soft.
3. Grind coconut, garlic, shallot, green chilli and cumin seeds into a fine paste. Add this to the cooked curry and mix well.
4. Cook again for 2 -3 minutes and remove from heat and set aside.
5. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Then add sliced shallots, red chilli, curry leaves and fry till they turn light brown colour.
Pour this into the curry.
Serve with rice.
