Gulab jamun































Milk powder – 1 cup
All purpose flour – ¼ cup
Sugar – 2 cups
Water – 1 cup
Baking soda – 2 pinches
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
Saffron – A few threads
Oil and ghee – for frying

1. Combine sugar and water in a pan and simmer on low flame until sugar dissolves.
2. Add cardamom powder and saffron.
3. Let the syrup boil then remove from heat and set aside.
4. Mix milk powder, all purpose flour and baking soda.
5. Add little milk to form smooth dough.
6. Make small balls from the dough. (Be sure there is no crack on the balls)
7. Heat oil in a medium flame. (½ ghee + ½ oil)
8. Fry the balls till golden brown colour on low heat.
9. Remove from the oil and drop it directly into the syrup.
10. Soak it at least 1- 2 hours.
Serve as sweets.
